Many believers today feel speaking in tongues, uncontrollable body movements, like falling down or hysterical laughter, or the ability o heal others or yourself is evidence of the Holy Spirit’s indwelling. However, according to this video, Galatians 5:16-21 paints a very different picture. In this chapter, various indications are laid out that reveal the Holy Spirit is not present, then goes on to explain how we can know we do possess the Holy Spirit in verse 22-23.
Galatians 5:22-23, “But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness, self-control: against such things there is no law.”
By exemplifying the fruits of the Spirit, you know you have the Holy Spirit living within. This doesn’t mean you are perfect, without sin or never lose your temper. It simply means that overall, you have gentleness about you, you try to exhibit self control, etc.
