Angels. They are beautiful, helpers of God. Sent here to earth to help us every day. Have you ever wondered if you have your own? An assigned guardian angel, kind of like Clarence in “It’s a Wonderful Life.” Watch this video below to learn more:
The short answer is yes there are angels assigned to administer to us. Though they likely don’t look much like the lovable Clarence from the cinematic tale. In actuality, instead of one guardian angel, we likely have many angels ministering to us. Before delving deeper, let’s look at what the Bible says..
The word angel means “messenger.” The Bible includes several references about angels. The verses also seem to imply that certain angels have a specific role. In Luke 1:30 the Bible talks about one angel assigned to communicate a miraculous message to Mary. The verses says, “And the angel said to her, ‘Do not be afraid, Mary; for you have found favor with God.'” Another instance appears in Hebrews 2:2, which says, “For if the word spoken through angels proved unalterable, and every transgression and disobedience received a just penalty.”
Matthew 18:10 seems to indicate that we might have our own angel. The verse says, “See that you do not despise one of these little ones, for I say to you that their angels in heaven continually see the face of My Father who is in heaven.” This verse means that there are angels whose purpose is to serve us. However, having an angel assigned one-for-one with each person isn’t addressed in the Bible. Therefore, having a specific guardian angel assigned to you might not be so, though this does not indicate that we are without God’s ministers here on earth. Who knows though, maybe we do. Overall, we have God on our side and He will send us any help we need, sometimes using His ministering angels.
