In one of those funny moments when kids surprise us all, a young boy took things into his own hands during his baptism. Jordan Warrick was six years old and he was very excited because he finally had his chance to be baptized. While his pastor was standing with the boy in the baptismal font, offering words of praise to the Lord for this young boy, the boy suddenly lost control of his excitement.
After waiting for what must have seemed like an eternity while the grown up just kept talking, this boy made a split second decision to end his agonizing wait! There’s a lesson for all of us adults: don’t talk; act!
Jordan had faced enough challenges already in his short life: he had been born three months prematurely, and he had a twin brother who did not survive. Here was a little boy who knew that one day he would see his brother again.
The Lord loves little children, and I can’t help but imagine the SMILE on His eternal face as he watched young Jordan act on his young but powerful faith. Jesus Christ tells us in the New Testament to be as little children, and this could be what he was talking about!
