Many regularly neglect the most powerful weapon God has bestowed upon us. They try with all their earthly knowledge to get life right, to fix things, to fight the devil and his schemes, all without much success. However, to do this on their own means they have wasted their most powerful weapon of all, the power known as prayer, which is a topic touched on in greater depth in this “Lion of Judah” video.
The Bible is full of examples where prayer is properly utilized as the mighty tool it was designed by God to be. For example, Moses prayed apart the Red Sea, to have the people of Israel walked across on dry ground. Elijah prayed when challenging the prophets of Baal on Mt. Carmel, revealing the power of the one true God in a miraculous way. Hezekiah, when faced with a seemingly insurmountable Assyrian army poised to strike and destroy his people, prayed for God’s intervention. The answer to Hezekiah’s prayer is revealed below:
2 Kings 19:35 “That night the angel of the Lord went out and put to death 185,000 in the Assyrian camp. When the people got up the next morning–there were all the dead bodies!”
This passage shows the amazing victory that came simply from true believing prayer. Therefore, when a situation seems hopeless, pray. When the devil seems hell-bent on destroying your life, pray. When all else fails, pray. Before trying anything else, pray. God gave Christians the tool of prayer to use, not to waste. Satan is already a defeated foe. He just has to be told that’s the case, through prayer. To end, consider a timely verse that further showcases the mighty power of prayer:
Psalm 107:28-30 “They cried to the Lord in their trouble, and he delivered them from their distress. He made the storm be still, and the waves of the sea were hushed.”
