When a two-year-old boy in Brazil died from pneumonia, his family was left stunned and heartbroken. But did he really die?
This is the story of Kelvin Santos. After Kelvin’s sudden death, his grieving father said to him, “Come back to Daddy.” His father had hoped Kelvin would come back from the dead but he did not think it was actually possible. Then, just before his funeral, as Kelvin lay lifeless in his coffin with his sobbing family gathered around him, Kelvin sat up in his coffin. He looked around, smiled and asked for a glass of water. As his family members began screaming in shock, Kelvin lay back down… lifeless once again. Kelvin’s dad tried to wake him again, but he was unresponsive. Kelvin’s dad then rushed him straight back to the hospital to see if Kelvin could be revived, but the doctors were mystified. Again, they pronounced Kelvin dead.
For many, it seems that little Kelvin Santos simply wanted to come back from the dead to deliver one final smile to his family. Although he was only two at the time of his death, perhaps Kelvin had wisdom far beyond his years. Let us not forget what is promised for us in 2 Timothy 4: 6-8 — “The time of my departure has come. I have fought the good fight, I have finished the race, I have kept the faith. Henceforth there is laid up for me the crown of righteousness, which the Lord, the righteous judge, will award to me on that Day, and not only to me but also to all who have loved his appearing.”
