Matthew 24:35 says, Heaven and earth will pass away, but my words will never pass away.” This verse was exemplified in an astounding way recently at Freedom Ministries Church in Grandview, West Virginia. After experiencing a devastating fire that burned the building to the ground and forced firefighters to retreat due to heat, something extraordinary was found in the rubble during clean up.

What Was Found in The Charred Fire Remains?

According to a Facebook post from the church, firefighters found dozens of intact Bibles surrounded by burned rubble. The department stated, In your mind, everything should be burned, ashes. Not a single Bible was burned and not a single cross was harmed. The firefighters also added, “Though the odds were against us, God was not.” Thankfully, no firefighters were injured fighting the blaze.

Miracle Among The Ashes

Although the fire itself is devastating to the church and a loss they will have to endure, the presence of the Bibles, laying there unharmed, reminds us all of the power God has to protect. It has to be an encouragement to the people of that congregation that God is with them, even in this time of loss.

In conclusion, God truly is an amazing, powerful, all-knowing God who takes care of those who believe upon Him. Though this terrible thing happened, when the church was lost, God sent a sign to all those who beheld it that He is still in control and still cares when he protected the Bibles from being destroyed. What an amazing God we serve and what an astoundingly powerful book we have for our use in the Bible!
