Duck Dynasty Cast Asks For Your Prayers During State Of Emergency
As severe flooding continues to wreak havoc in Louisiana, the Robertson family, of A&E’s hit show Duck Dynasty, is once more in the spotlight asking for prayers for their beloved state of Lousiana. ABC News reports that a whopping 80% of Louisianan residents will face severe damage from the floods. Nearly 12,000 residents are currently displaced and seeking refuse in shelters.
The Robertson family fled to social media to raise prayers for Louisiana. Korie Roberston encouraged fans to pray via her Twitter account, using the hashtag #PrayForLouisiana, while Sadie took to Instagram to muster up some prayer warriors.
It is no surprise that the governor has issued a state of emergency as ABC reported that the state received 21 inches of rain – that’s a three month supply in just one day.
Homes have been damaged, cars left ruined, and people injured and homeless. Heed the message of the Robertson family and turn your eyes towards the heavens: “Carry each other’s burdens, and in this way you will fulfill the law of Christ” (Galatians 6:2). What can you do to ease the burden of your brother or sister in Christ? Offer your home to a friend in need? Pray for peace and comfort? As you reflect on the state of emergency, “pray without ceasing; for this is the will of God in Christ Jesus for you” (1 Thessalonions 5: 16-18).
