How Can I Have Victory In Overcoming Sin? (Answered Revealed)

How Can I Have Victory In Overcoming Sin? (Answered Revealed) | I Love Being Christian Videos

First we need to realize that sin has already been defeated and dealt with on the cross. Satan and all other forces of darkness were defeated on the day of crucifixion. Yes, we still have to walk in this world and we still have things and sin that we are overcoming in our lives; but we must know that sin has lost its power over us.(1 Cor.15:54-56) Through the power of The Holy Spirit, we have control over it.

The sins that we feel are the hardest to overcome- usually come from roots within us. Most of the things we struggle and fight, come from something within us that hasn’t been dealt with or healed. We should continuously go before God when we see these things come up. We should ask Him what the roots are and seek that He get them out of us. When digging up weeds in the yard, you have to go for the root to make them stop growing.

So very often we seek to deal with the “flower or leaf” of the issue, when really it’s down deeper producing more things that we don’t desire. We must get to the root of the problem. The good news is that God will help us and reveal it to us. We don’t have to do it alone. Thank God He cares enough about us to show us what is in us, so that we can be made whole, healthy and joyful!

Here are a few ways to help us overcome the sin that so easily besets us. (Heb. 12:1)

  1. The Holy Spirit– He is our power source and the only way we can overcome anything. He is the revealer of all things and our teacher. He brings into remembrance all Truth and what God has told us. (John 14:26)
  2. The Word of GodHebrews 4:12 says, “For the word of God is quick, and powerful, and sharper than any twoedged sword, piercing even to the dividing asunder of soul and spirit, and of the joints and marrow, and is a discerner of the thoughts and intents of the heart.” We’re not wrestling against flesh and blood, but against evil spirits and wickedness. We need to put on the full armour of God that we may be able to withstand in the evil day, and having done all to stand. (Ephesians 6:12-18)
  3. Prayer-If we remain in prayer we can remain in faith and not fail so easily when temptations come to try to drag us away.Through prayer we can confess those things that we can only overcome and conqueror through and with God.
  4. Fellowship with other believers-Having people to encourage us and help uplift us will help us all in our journey to becoming more like Christ. Having people to affirm us when we’re feeling less than, will help us to see the progress we’ve made through God. Hebrews 10:24-25 says, “And let us consider one another to provoke unto love and to good works: Not forsaking the assembling of ourselves together, as the manner of some is; but exhorting one another: and so much the more, as ye see the day approaching.” Ecclesiastes 4:12 says, A three cord strand is not quickly broken.”  We need to set up an accountability partner or a group that can help be an help in our road to sanctification.

Revelation 12:11-“And they overcame him by the blood of the Lamb, and by the word of their testimony; and they loved not their lives unto the death.

God has overcome the world. (John 16:33)
