What It Means To Surrender To God And Why We Start Winning In Life When We Do (MUST HEAR!)
To ultimately succeed in life we have stop trusting in and depending on ourselves and start depending on and trusting in God.
You may fear surrender because you feel like you will fail and you don’t want to mess things up. Failing is inevitable, but it isn’t something that you should fear. I just read that surrender means to accept defeat. So we know that we will fail, but we don’t have to remain there.
To accept defeat doesn’t mean accept that we’ve been defeated by satan. Through Christ, satan is defeated. But it does mean to accept defeat in our own strength. We can’t do anything in our own strength, so we must accept that we are defeated in it. The good news is there is someone who is greater than our own strength and can be trusted in and relied on. His name is Jesus.
When we surrender we ultimately win because we get out of the way and allow God (through free Will that He gave us) to handle all our situations. And guess what? It also takes the pressure and stress off of us. It allows us to rest in what God has already accomplished which is complete and total victory.
We can rest in the finished work of Christ on the cross when we surrender. We can stop striving in our own strength and trying so hard to perfect ourselves. Once we do that, we can begin to rest in His perfect work that was already decided a long time ago. We are accepting that He can and He will.
We can’t change everything that happens to us, but God can change the way we feel about it. When we surrender and quit trying to fix and overcome the troubles in our lives and our hearts, then He can step in and do more in split seconds than we could ever do in years.
Surrendering makes ALL TROUBLES easier for us. We are giving up trying to fight these things on our own, and resting in God’s complete and perfect power to do what He does best. This is an on-going process.
One we decide to get serious about this everything changes. So don’t get discouraged because you don’t get it all together at once. Once Jesus becomes the light in your heart, He begins to transform and change you from the inside out. That is the only way change becomes permanent and you find peace.
